Within the department of PMT – Processes, Methods and Tools (TZ) we thrive to enable our Tech Centers and Delivery Units to deliver complex technologies in time, in budget and in quality. As a central enabler for the product development we provide compliant processes, methods as well as consistent toolchains and stand for continuous process optimization. We empower every employee to create value for our customers. As a AI Architect for PMT solutions  at CARIAD, you will shape the future of our engineering tool ecosystem. You’ll work at the intersection of technology, strategy, and governance—driving innovation and efficiency across CARIAD and the Volkswagen Group.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and architecture of scalable AI solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Technical enablement of the teams: Ensuring technical delivery capability, escalation management for architecture or infrastructure issue
• Architecture responsibility for AI projects within the DDAI ART: Coordination and further development of the technical architecture across all relevant use cases
• Collaboration with platform and infrastructure teams, especially on integrating GenAI components into existing landscapes (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Databricks)
• Evaluation and management of GenAI use cases in close coordination with stakeholders at CARIAD and corporate partners

WHO YOU ARE

• Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a tech company, OEM, or management consultancy
• Long-standing practical experience in leading technical projects or teams in IT or software development
• In-depth technical understanding of GenAI, LLMs, and AI platforms (e.g. Azure OpenAI, HuggingFace or comparable frameworks
• Architectural understanding of complex AI landscapes, including data infrastructure (ETL/ELT, ML Ops, data lake)
• Hands-on experience in implementing AI use cases – from conception to productive integration
• Good communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
• High level of professionalism, proactiveness, resilience, and service orientation
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
