Low Voltage System Assembly (LVSA) - Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d)

 

This position is based at our manufacturing plant in Schrems, Austria

 

 

EATON is hiring an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to design and industrialize future-ready manufacturing processes, technologies, and factory concepts for LVSA products, enabling scalable, efficient, and automated production aligned with business growth and new product introduction.

 

What you’ll do:

 

Manufacturing Concept & Industrialization:

  • Define and implement manufacturing concepts for LVSA - assembly strategy (station-based / line / modular), material flow and logistics concepts, production layout and footprint
  • Lead industrialization of new products (e.g. data center solutions) and new factories / production halls
  • Drive Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) progression

Automation & Technology Development:

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities: post-order engineering, assembly automation, copper processing, material handling, testing
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies and equipment
  • Define future-state production capabilities

Digitalization & Industry 4.0:

  • Support implementation of Eplan, Digital work instructions, MES system and Data-driven manufacturing
  • Improve data integration across engineering → production → testing

CapEx Planning & Implementation:

  • Define equipment requirements and specifications
  • Build CapEx business cases (ROI, productivity impact)
  • Support supplier selection and equipment commissioning
  • Ensure successful ramp-up of new equipment

Process Innovation & Standardization:

  • Develop standardized production concepts across plants
  • Define best practices for assembly, wiring, busbar processing
  • Enable modular and repeatable manufacturing solutions

Cross-Functional Industrialization Leadership:

  • Work closely with: Engineering (EE/ME) → Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA), Process Engineering → process implementation, Production → validation and ramp-up, Supply Chain → material flow and constraints
  • Ensure alignment between product design and manufacturing capability

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify long-term productivity improvements
  • Reduce assembly hours, lead time and dependency on manual skills
  • Support value stream optimization initiatives

 

Qualifications and skills:

 

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrialization role, preferably in low voltage systems, electrical equipment, or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies, assembly systems and line design, automation concepts
  • Experience with CapEx planning and equipment specification, layout design and material flow optimization
  • Understanding of DFM / DFA principles
  • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing tools (e.g. EPLAN Electric P8, ERP, MES)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to drive change and process improvements

 

What we offer:

 

  • A performance-oriented and attractive remuneration, depending on education, qualifications, and professional experience, of approximately EUR 70,000 gross per year, paid in 14 monthly instalments (overpayment above this amount is possible depending on qualifications and experience).
