Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Coordinator will support the development and delivery of a broad range of advancement initiatives at the Faculty of Music. The role includes assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for research and prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition; drafting donor acknowledgment and recognition communications; generating reports; updating prospect databases and portfolios; alumni relations; maintaining information across digital platforms; and processing donations within the donor managementsystem.

As a key member of the Advancement team, the Coordinator will help strengthen philanthropic momentum and play a meaningful role in advancing transformational opportunities at the Faculty of Music. Your work will directly support initiatives that enhance infrastructure, expand student support, and advance innovation across disciplines. Equally important, you will help connect donors to the meaningful impact of their giving to the Faculty of Music.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
  • Drafting donor acknowledgment and recognition communications
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Drafting internal and external communications
  • Overseeing tasks related to the productionand dissemination of communications/marketing materials
  • Generating reports
  • Collating background information packages for prospect stewardship activities

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in an administrative coordinator or comparable role, with a minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated recent fundraising/advancement experience.
  • Experience with fundraising database ARBOR or related database.
  • Experience conducting research to support strategy and drive informed outcomes.
  • Experience generating/producing a variety of reports from multiple data sources.
  • Experience in preparing correspondence for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, planning, organizing, executing and evaluating events in an advancement or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), database and fundraising software.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Superior accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities and targets, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience in an arts or humanities environment and an understanding or appreciation for arts and cultures is highly preferred.
