About the Role We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Enterprise team at WATI — one of the largest WhatsApp Business API SaaS platforms globally, serving tens of thousands of businesses. You will own core backend features end-to-end: from requirement analysis and technical design, through implementation, to production monitoring. The work spans analytics APIs, messaging infrastructure, multi-tenant data pipelines, and AI-powered automation tooling. This role requires someone who is highly proficient in using AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude, custom agents) as a force-multiplier in daily engineering work — not as a novelty, but as a core part of your workflow.

What You'll Do Design and implement backend features for a multi-tenant SaaS platform (WhatsApp Business messaging, broadcast, automation, analytics) Own technical designs and drive cross-repo coordination (backend / frontend / messaging services / billing) Debug complex production issues across distributed systems (async job chains, webhook pipelines, multi-tenant data flows) Build and use AI agents to accelerate engineering workflows — requirement analysis, code generation, code review, testing Collaborate directly with PM, CS, and international engineering teams in English
