Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.
To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role
As an Arms Administrator within a dedicated district firearms team, you will play an integral role in improving public safety by stopping firearms falling into the wrong hands and reducing the risk of people becoming victims of firearms crime.
Directly supporting the Central District firearms licensing team, you will be involved in the day-to-day processing of new and renewal applications for a New Zealand firearms licence.
Are you great at administration, have service centric skills, and a keen eye for detail but no knowledge of firearms or of the Arms Act and Regulations? When you join our team, you’ll be supported with the right training to ensure you grow confidently in the role and develop a good understanding of firearms and legislation.

We as the firearms regulator, collaborate closely with both the Ministry of Justice and NZ Police. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy advice and system oversight and NZ Police is responsible for law enforcement function.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $63,526.00
