Summary
The Division of Congenital Heart Surgery at Texas Children's Hospital is currently seeking a faculty member for its Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Surgical Service, with consideration for service directorship based on experience and academic rank. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to join Texas Children's internationally recognized Heart Center-one of the nation's highest-volume, academically driven congenital heart programs within a premier academic health system. Appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and academic qualifications.
Our multidisciplinary team specializes in both pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, providing personalized, lifelong care. Patients have access to a full spectrum of ACHD services-, including advanced noninvasive imaging, arrhythmia management, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, surgery, mental and behavioral health services, and a comprehensive wellness program - all of which occur on a dedicated ACHD floor featuring an outpatient clinic and 16 universal care beds. Board certified physicians collaborate closely with Texas Children's Fetal Center and the Pavilion for Women to deliver specialized care for pregnant patients with CHD while minimizing associated risks.
Job Duties
- Delivering outpatient and inpatient surgical care for adults with congenital heart disease.
- In partnership with Heart Center clinical colleagues and administrative leaders, outlining and implementing strategies to advance the ACHD Surgical Program through innovation, quality improvement, and care pathway development.
- Participating in academic missions, including clinical research, education of trainees, and scholarly publication.
- Sharing congenital heart surgery call responsibilities, including transplant services.
- Providing clinical leadership, mentoring multidisciplinary staff, and modeling professional and ethical behavior.
- Partnering with referring providers and leadership to enhance communication and program growth.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have completed fellowship training in pediatric cardiac surgery and be board eligible or board certified in cardiothoracic surgery, with a demonstrated interest in adult congenital heart surgery.
- The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team supported by state-of-the-art facilities and robust institutional resources.
