Division:  Ambulatory Operations

Work Arrangement: 

Location:  Houston, TX

Salary Range:  $18 - $21 per hour

FLSA Status:  Nonexempt

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine's Ambulatory Operations Team is seeking a BCM Temporary - Medical Assistant to assist with administering flu vaccines this flu season.

 

The schedule will vary, but may be 2-3 days per week and approximately 10-20 hours per week.

 

The vaccine clinics will take place at multiple locations on campus and offsite.

 

This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits. The maximum assignment length is 3 months.

Job Purpose

Performs patient care responsibilities and provides clerical/administrative support in a clinical setting.

Job Duties

  • Administers flu vaccines in a high-volume environment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution.
  • No experience required.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited professional organization (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA,,AAH AAMP, or NPS).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable administering vaccines.
