Job Description

 

Responsibilities

Support industrial project development:

  • Participate in engineering studies (internal and/or external) on new projects during their identification phase
  • Lead technical discussions with customers, processors and/or potential partners
  • Contribute to and/or chair steering committees
  • Propose optimisations to Capex, Opex, schedules and environmental impacts
  • Coordinate with Eramet Ideas and Eramine on test programmes (Trappes, Centenario Training Centre, deposits)

 

Conduct techno-economic assessments:

  • Carry out material and energy balances
  • Assess environmental impacts (carbon footprint, water and energy consumption, solid waste, land use)
  • Preliminary CAPEX and OPEX evaluation
  • Participate in HAZOP and risk studies
  • Verify alignment of designs with Eramet's CSR policy

 

Coordinate R&D activities with Eramet Ideas and/or external laboratories:

  • Participate in the development of research programmes and coordinate their alignment with the BU's industrial objectives
  • Summarise research findings in management notes

 

Lead technology watch activities:

  • Capture early signals on innovations in lithium extraction and battery technology developments
  • Attend lithium conferences and represent Eramet's technological capabilities
  • Produce technology watch reports to guide the Lithium BU's activities

 

Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Postgraduate technical or scientific degree (Master's or equivalent)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in metal extraction, with a strong preference for lithium
  • Experience in industrial process development and integration
  • Experience working with engineering teams
  • Experience working with laboratories and research institutes (collaboration, management and coordination)

 

Skills & Personal Qualities:

  • Proven ability to work and communicate with high-level multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • Rigour, intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work at altitude (operations in South America)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-growing environment

 

Languages:

  • English: fluent professional level required
  • Spanish: operational level required at hiring or to be acquired within 2 years
  • Chinese, Arabic and/or French: additional asset
