Backend Developer with Java

Job Description

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and support of technology solutions in a collaborative Agile environment. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions while supporting continuous improvement and effective team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and backend services
Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative software delivery
Support technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and implementation activities
Promote adherence to established development standards, quality practices, and team delivery objectives
Identify and help resolve technical issues, risks, and delivery impediments
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment
Monitor application performance and support troubleshooting and issue resolution activities
Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancements and best practices

Skills and Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Experience in software engineering, including backend development and/or full-stack development
Experience working in Agile delivery environments and familiarity with Agile principles and practices
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, testing practices, and version control
Experience with backend development technologies, including Java and Spring Boot
Familiarity with data engineering concepts, data processing, and integration technologies is advantageous
Understanding of digital banking, internet banking, retail banking, or related financial services domains is beneficial
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage priorities and contribute to multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment
