Job Summary
The Banquet Operations Manager leads the planning and execution of all in-house catered events at the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center. Working closely with catering, sales, and culinary teams, this role ensures seamless operations, exceptional guest experiences, and high-quality event delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
- Execute events, menus, and guest requests with strong attention to detail
- Ensure team members are equipped for success
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and team members
Controls
- Maintain safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards
- Plan and manage inventory, equipment, and operational needs
Team
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
- Support team productivity, morale, and engagement
Requirements
- 1–2 years of catering or banquet management experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules and meet physical job demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 2–4 years of fine dining or operations management experience
- Food, beverage, and wine knowledge
- ServSafe certification
