Salary Range: £47,860 - £64,615 per annum

   

Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week

 

About the Role:

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Biomedical Scientist to join the Clinical Chemistry team within the Pathology Department.

The Clinical Chemistry Department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital provides a comprehensive service to the Bailiwick of Guernsey which includes the islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm.

The Biomedical Scientist in Clinical Chemistry participates in the provision of a comprehensive, robust and cost-effective diagnostic Clinical Chemistry service on behalf of the Health and Social Care Committee to the highest standards, acting in accordance with Clinical Governance procedures. The department of Clinical Chemistry interacts with a wide range of stakeholders, and the post holder will interact with both professional colleagues and the public. They must be able to provide advice to clinicians and service users regarding technical aspects of Clinical Chemistry, within their scope of practice and experience. The role requires a graduate level of theoretical and practical knowledge of Clinical Chemistry, and a working knowledge of immunology and viral serology. The post holder is required to contribute to the training and supervision of support and administrative staff within the IBMS training guidelines. Working individually or as part of a small team they will contribute to the development of new procedures and practices for specialist Clinical Chemistry investigations.
