Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor steam boiler systems, including start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Ensure boiler parameters (pressure, temperature, water level, fuel supply) are maintained within safe limits.
  • Perform routine inspections, blowdown procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate boiler logbooks, operating records, and statutory documentation.
  • Ensure boilers and auxiliary equipment are in safe and efficient working condition.
  • Support DOSH inspections, Certificate of Fitness (CF) renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Report any abnormalities, faults, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and proper housekeeping within the boiler plant area.

 

Requirements

  • Valid Boilerman Certificate (Grade 1 or Grade 2) issued by DOSH Malaysia.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating steam boilers in a plant, utilities, or hotel environment.
  • Knowledge of boiler operations, water treatment systems, and safety standards.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Strong awareness of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, instruments, and operating data.
  • Able to work independently and handle shift duties, standby, and emergency call-outs.
  • Basic communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
