About this role:

Our Business Growth team is driving payabl.’s expansion across global markets by building strong pipelines, onboarding new clients, and growing long-term partnerships in the payments space. The team works closely with Compliance, Operations, and Product to bring complex deals to life while navigating a fast-paced, regulated environment.

To support this growth, the team needs a Business Growth Manager who will take ownership of new market opportunities, develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline, and convert prospects into active clients. This role is central to expanding our market presence, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring that growth is both scalable and sustainable worldwide.

Reporting Line: Banking Lead 

Location: Limassol, Cyprus

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute client acquisition strategies, with a strong focus on business accounts.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of merchants and introducers across low, medium and high-risk verticals (holding companies, software & game developers, marketing companies, crypto, forex, gaming, tech, etc.).
  • Generate leads through HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn, existing portfolio clients, and introducer networks.
  • Drive the full sales cycle: outreach → intro call → pricing → compliance (CDD) → onboarding.
  • Stay actively engaged during onboarding, ensuring deals go live and clients are activated.
  • Navigate central bank and EU regulatory requirements to prevent onboarding delays.
  • Manage structured pipeline reporting using Excel/Google Suite, alongside HubSpot or Apollo (Salesforce or similar tools also acceptable).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Banking Ops, Compliance, Legal, CRM) to deliver seamless onboarding.
  • Represent payabl. at local and European industry events, building relationships and reinforcing brand credibility.

What we need:

  • 4+ years of business development or sales experience within Fintech, EMI, Payments, or Business Banking environments.

  • Proven track record of closing complex B2B deals and managing revenue-generating client portfolios.

  • A self-driven commercial professional who can own the full revenue lifecycle, from sourcing opportunities to closing and scaling accounts.

  • Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability, with a mindset focused on quality pipeline and long-term value, not just activity volume.

  • Strong understanding of business banking and payments, including local and international payment rails (FPS, BACS, CHAPS, SEPA, SEPA Instant).

  • Familiarity with FX, card issuing, and regulated onboarding processes, including exposure to higher-risk merchant categories (desirable).

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers, including C-suite and Finance Directors.

  • Confident in managing internal and external stakeholders across commercial, operational, and regulatory discussions.

  • Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) and pipeline management best practices.

  • Comfortable using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo as enablers — not as the core of a high-volume outbound motion.
