• Focus will be on Network Engineering • Coordination of system maintenance, monitoring and installation of multiple WAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies • Provide problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for network issues. • Escalate and communicate status to management and customers. • Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software. • Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies. • Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation. • Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives. • Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the network. • Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices • Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies. • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure problems. • Maintain and configure network components to improve reliability and performance. • Conduct site surveys, planning, and design support. • Collaborate with the team across departments and locations • Collaborative across external service providers and customer to resolve incidents and problems. • Work independently and as part of integrated teams. • Apply advanced concepts and processes to daily activities. • Maintain thorough knowledge of network and security systems. • Act as technical interface with vendors and external stakeholders. • Review and provide recommendations to technical documentation. • Maintain outside plant cabling and manholes. • Install and configure WAN hardware, including voice, video, and data systems. • Support the development of system specifications, architecture designs, and integration plans. • Implement risk management and quality assurance strategies. • Support deployable networks for multiple mission partners. • Travel to CONUS sites for deployments, installations, and maintenance. • Develop and maintain customer's deployable communications suites.
