Your impact  

 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Document Writer, in this permanent position you will create and review technical drawings to support engineering and construction projects across Newmont’s Boddington mine operations.

 

As part of our team you will also 

 

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings in accordance with project specifications
  • Review, assess and update drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
  • Liaise with engineers, planners and management to clarify project requirements including retrieving and coordinating documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Produce layouts, sketches and plans using AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Support the preparation of project documentation, reports and design deliverables
  • Maintain, manage and administer drawing registers and project files
  • Apply relevant codes, standards and regulatory requirements to all designs
  • Conduct site visits to collect measurements and other critical project information
  • Assist in the development of design concepts and preliminary layouts
  • Identify and assess design-related risks, implement mitigation strategies and actively monitor ongoing risks.

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Drafting or Engineering, a relevant trade certification, or equivalent substantial industry experience
  • Strong understanding of mine site operational requirements
  • Sound knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards
  • Advanced skills and proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Advanced skills and proficiency in MicroStation
  • Well developed document management and control skills
  • Full and unrestricted Australian work rights mandatory.

This permanent site-based position at Boddington mine and will be offered on a drive in drive out basis working 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off.
