Manager – IT Infra

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled VDI Architect to lead the design, modernization, and lifecycle management of enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms.

This role requires deep expertise in Citrix, Omnissa (Horizon), VMware, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), along with a strong focus on automation, scalability, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Define end-to-end VDI architectures across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
• Design and implement solutions using Citrix CVAD, Horizon, VMware ESXi/vSphere, and AVD
• Develop strategies for pooled/persistent desktops, image lifecycle, and profile management (FSLogix)
• Architect secure, scalable, and highly available environments with DR/BCP

Implementation & Modernization

• Lead VDI transformation, migration, and upgrade initiatives
• Implement automation frameworks (PowerShell, IaC) for provisioning, scaling, and patching
• Integrate monitoring tools such as ControlUp, Citrix Analytics, VMware Aria Ops, and Azure Monitor

Operations Excellence

• Develop SOPs, runbooks, and operational workflows aligned with ITIL
• Manage performance tuning, capacity planning, and session density optimization
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives

Security & Governance

• Implement Zero Trust architecture and conditional access policies
• Secure VDI gateways (ADC/UAG) and ensure compliance with enterprise standards
• Optimize cost and licensing using autoscaling and cloud optimization strategies

Stakeholder Management

• Translate business requirements into architecture designs and roadmaps
• Deliver HLD, LLD, and as-built documentation
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams
• Mentor and guide engineering teams

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–15 years of experience in EUC/VDI, with at least 5+ years in architecture roles
• Strong expertise in:
• Citrix CVAD, StoreFront, NetScaler (ADC), MCS/PVS
• Omnissa Horizon (UAG, App Volumes, DEM)
• VMware vSphere / ESXi
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), FSLogix
• Good understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Entra ID, Azure Monitor)
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, GPOs, Intune, and image management
• Experience in performance optimization, HA/DR, and cost management
• Scripting expertise: PowerShell (mandatory); Terraform/Bicep (preferred)
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Certifications

• Citrix: CCE-V / CCP-V
• VMware: VCP-DTM / VCAP-DTM / VCP-DCV
• Microsoft Azure: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-140
• ITIL Foundation
• Security certifications (AZ-500, CISSP, CCSP) – added advantage
