The Role
The Principal, Global Growth is responsible for providing rigorous analytical, commercial judgement and execution support across Cameco’s priority growth initiatives, including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and long-term strategic partnerships across the global nuclear fuel cycle.
In this role, you will:
- Lead commercial, financial, and strategic analysis underpinning growth opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and long‑term partnerships.
- Develop investment cases, valuation models, scenario analysis, and recommendation materials for executive and Board‑level decision‑making.
- Stress‑test assumptions related to market structure, competitive dynamics, regulation, geopolitics, and long‑term value creation.
- Support structuring and negotiation of complex commercial arrangements, including equity investments, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Coordinate internal and external diligence workstreams across legal, financial, technical, regulatory, and tax.
- Act as an integrator across cross-functional teams, external advisors and counterparties to maintain momentum, decision quality, and discipline.
- Provide analytical and commercial support across active transactions, strategic reviews, and priority initiatives.
- Support senior leadership in negotiations, partner discussions, and government or shareholder engagements as required.
- Develop clear, concise presentation materials for executive, Board, partner, and government forums, including transaction summaries, strategic options, and recommendation packs.
- Translate complex commercial, financial, and strategic analysis into structured, decision‑oriented narratives suitable for senior audiences.
- Ensure all written materials meet the standards expected for senior executive review, with disciplined logic, clarity of message, and rigorous substantiation.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or related discipline;
- at least 10 years of relevant experience, including strategy, corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, or private equity;
- demonstrated experience supporting or leading complex, high-value transactions and strategic initiatives.
- professional judgement, discretion, and ability to operate with limited direction in unclear, high‑stakes environments;
- strong financial modelling, technical and valuation capability, including ability to move between analytical detail and executive synthesis;
- proven ability to operate effectively in international, multi-stakeholder environments; and
- comfort engaging with senior executives and external stakeholders.
Recommended:
- MBA, CFA or equivalent.
