Job Purpose
Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of SOPC’s compliance and regulatory frameworks to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory directives. The role ensures compliance monitoring, regulatory coordination, and internal compliance reviews, serving as SOPC’s second line of defense and enabling proactive management of regulatory obligations and compliance risks in alignment with SOPC’s risk appetite.
Compliance Frameworks & Monitoring
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPC’s compliance frameworks, policies, and monitoring mechanisms in line with applicable regulatory and governance requirements.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive compliance universe and obligation register, ensuring full mapping of regulatory requirements to business activities, and implementing risk-based compliance monitoring programs supported by automated tools and analytics.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and assessments to evaluate adherence to regulatory obligations and internal policies.
- Identify compliance gaps, breaches, or weaknesses and coordinate corrective action plans with relevant SOPC functions.
Regulatory Coordination & Oversight
- Act as SOPC’s focal point for coordination with regulatory and oversight bodies on compliance-related matters, inspections, and information requests.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of compliance documentation, responses, and reports to regulatory authorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their implications on SOPC operations, policies, and processes.
Compliance Reporting & Issue Management
- Maintain compliance registers and tracking mechanisms to monitor regulatory obligations, findings, and closure of corrective actions.
- Apply structured root cause analysis methodologies to the highly rated and frequent non-compliance cases/observations.
- Prepare consolidated compliance dashboards and reports for senior leadership, highlighting breaches, trends, and areas of elevated compliance risk.
- Escalate material compliance issues in line with approved governance and escalation protocols.
Advisory & Awareness
- Provide guidance to SOPC functions on compliance requirements, regulatory expectations, and good practices.
- Support the development and delivery of compliance awareness initiatives to promote a strong compliance culture across SOPC.
Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate closely with Governance & Frameworks, Risk & Continuity, and Internal Audit to ensure alignment across assurance and control activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOPC’s compliance maturity and regulatory readiness.
