About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. Your Impact

As a Reliability Advisor, Fixed Assets at Brucejack, you will be responsible for influencing decisions made by Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations Teams by providing clear justifications and insights from failure analyses and defect elimination exercises. You will be accountable for designated equipment strategies and work with Maintenance Planners and Tradespeople to improve the maintenance program’s overall asset coverage and cost effectiveness.

This position specifically focuses on Fixed Productive Assets, including but not limited to crushing, grinding, dewatering, pasting, ventilation, and other processing circuits.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Champion Newmont Work Management routines and best practices
  • Identify, design, and implement condition monitoring initiatives including vibration, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing to improve early failure identification
  • Lead and contribute to Root Cause Analysis workshops and help develop the Brucejack Defect Elimination Program
  • Identify bad actors and recurring failure trends and determine cost effective solutions
  • Work with both Operators and Maintainers to develop and improve habits related to work identification, feedback, and closeout
  • Provide cost benefit justifications for parts optimization and critical spares
  • Both conduct and support criticality assessments for site assets
  • Work with Maintenance Planners, Tradespeople, and 3rd Party Vendors to ensure maintenance strategies identify and/or mitigate relevant failure modes
  • Lead weekly Work Analysis meetings to track KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Support Shutdown planning by providing reliability inputs
  • Work with Newmont Corporate groups to drive site improvements and ensure Brucejack priorities are understood by central teams
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • A Mechanical Engineering background with a P.Eng designation preferred
  • 5+ years of Reliability experience in an industrial setting
  • Additional experience as a Maintenance Planner, Trade, or in Operations is an asset
  • Experience maintaining CMMS master data in compliance with corporate standards
  • Solid understanding of RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) principles
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) designation is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills

The Brucejack team is now recruiting for the position of Reliability Advisor, Fixed Assets, with a competitive base salary between $85,400 – $113,900 / year, and an additional short-term incentive of 15%. You will also enjoy extended medical and dental benefits from day one, and be able to join our Comprehensive Pension Plan after three months. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CA$85,400 - 113,900 / year + 15% STIP . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
