Working closely with the State Manager and cross-functional teams, this role is focused on building a high-performing, production-driven environment where safety, efficiency, and operational excellence are at the forefront of everything we do.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded, tech-savvy leader who thrives in a fast-paced setting, is confident making decisions on the floor, and is motivated to improve systems, processes, and performance.

What you will do

  • Lead and supervise daily destruction centre operations to meet throughput, turnaround, and service targets
  • Drive efficient processing, sorting, and dispatch of materials with a strong focus on workflow and output
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot shredding and processing equipment
  • Identify downtime risks and take proactive action to maintain machine performance and uptime
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound site movements, including safe driver interactions and unloading
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and production-ready site environment
  • Monitor operational performance, including throughput, productivity, and equipment utilisation
  • Use systems and reporting tools to track data and support decision-making
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Allocate labour and equipment effectively to maximise output
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, setting clear expectations and driving accountability
  • Support onboarding and training with a strong focus on process adherence and safe work practices
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Logistics, and Sales teams to support service delivery
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS, EPA, and NAID AAA requirements
  • Maintain accurate operational, compliance, and reporting records in line with company standards

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in production, manufacturing, processing, or high-volume logistics environments
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with machinery or equipment
  • Forklift licence (preferred)
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to use systems, reporting tools, and operational data
  • Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Assertive and confident decision-maker with the ability to lead from the front
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, compliance, and industrial environments
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach
  • Exposure to WHS, EPA, or NAID AAA standards (desirable)
  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, operations, or a related field (preferred)

Why join Shred-X?

  • Join a growing and successful national business
  • Work in a safe, professional, and team-oriented environment
  • Take ownership of a critical operational function
  • Opportunity to drive process improvements and operational performance
  • Employee shopping discounts
  • Employee reward and recognition program
  • Company uniform provided
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer – we value diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

If you are ready to take the next step and lead a high-performing, production-focused operation at Shred-X, we would love to hear from you.
