Job Title

Executive, Safety Management System

Reports To

Manager, Safety Management System

Role Purpose

Assist the Manager, Safety Management System for the administration of the organisation's Safety Management System. Main accountability is to update, track and close the CSIS Safety Reports as well as manage CSSO Budget and EVS Reports.

Key Accountability

Perform periodic operational safety audits on en-route, ramp and facilities operated by the Company to ensure safety standards are being maintained and continually exercised. Such audits will normally be in the form of Safety Surveillances, Safety Walkabouts and the Hazard Identifying Program.

Assist and Conduct Incident and accident Investigations as assigned in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 and company procedures.

Complete the closure of safety reports (proactive and reactive) and effective implementation of corrective action/recommendation related to aircraft/ground operations.

Responsible for acknowledging receipt of safety reports and ensuring proper monitoring of safety reports sent via reporting link.

To extract data from the engineering database to gather evidence for engineering closure.

To be involved with the notification of MOR-related safety cases to CAAM as and when required. Correspondence on aviation safety matters pertaining to both aircraft and flight crew is required to be carried out.

Collect and collate FY Safety Reports such as ASR, CSR, GIR and HZD Safety Reports. Once the compilation of required documents is completed, such data will then be entered into the CSIS / safety data recording system for review and notification for MAG by FY. This work process is performed daily throughout the year.

Complete the closure of safety risk assessments and effective implementation of corrective action/recommendation related to aircraft/ground operations.

Communicate and coordinate with appropriate safety anchor person of respective departments in addressing the emerging risk related to aircraft/ all ground operations, accurate review, entering risk rating and assignment of occurrence reports.

Provide Safety investigation related information for dissemination via safety magazine/ newsletter.

Assist in developing, reviewing and managing the implementation of the emergency response plan (ERP) for FY.

Assist, facilitate and prepare all FY stations to ensure that all stations assigned under him/her are prepared with their respective emergency response (ER) plan.

Assist and facilitate the Operational Department and line stations in preparing departmental /station emergency response plans and checklists (DERP & SERP).

To assist in planning and conducting awareness briefings on ERP system-wide to ensure staff are adequately informed of the ERP and their roles during an emergency.

Carry out the above activities through effective teamwork with other staff members and perform such other relevant duties as assigned by the Manager, SMS.

Qualifications & Working Experience

Degree in Science/ Engineering/ Business related discipline, or;

Diploma/STPM or its equivalent with five (5) years of related experience.
