Manager – Design (Civil)

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana Business: Renewables SBU – Solar Projects Department: Design & Engineering (Civil)

Job Purpose

To lead and manage civil design and engineering activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects, ensuring timely delivery of optimized, cost-effective, and technically compliant civil engineering solutions. The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project execution from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the civil design and engineering activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects from concept to commissioning.
• Review and approve civil engineering drawings, calculations, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Develop and review foundation designs for Module Mounting Structures (MMS), inverter stations, control rooms, transformers, and other project infrastructure.
• Review site grading, earthwork, drainage, storm water management, road layouts, fencing, and boundary wall designs.
• Coordinate geotechnical investigations and incorporate soil investigation findings into foundation and structural designs.
• Optimize civil designs through value engineering while ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Procurement, Project Execution, Quality, and EHS teams for seamless project delivery.
• Review technical documents, BOQs, vendor drawings, and consultant deliverables for design compliance.
• Provide engineering support during tendering, construction, commissioning, and project handover.
• Resolve design-related technical issues during project execution and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
• Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Standards (IS), NBC, client specifications, and statutory regulations.
• Lead and mentor the civil design team while driving continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• M.Tech in Structural Engineering/Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 10–15 years of experience in Civil Design & Engineering for Solar, Renewable Energy, Power, EPC, or Infrastructure Projects.
• Experience in utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV projects is highly preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading civil engineering/design teams.
