About Us
Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. Utilities around the world rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco’s corporate office is based in Saskatoon. We have mining operations and projects in northern Saskatchewan, Kazakhstan, the United States and Australia. We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.
The Role
The successful student candidate will be working with the safety, health, environment, and quality compliance and licensing teams at the corporate office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
In this role, you will:
- conduct research on a range of environmental topics, including environmental regulation, aquatic toxicity, wildlife assessments, and surface water quality, with consideration of established scientific and regulatory frameworks.
- build your analytical skills by helping analyze and interpret environmental and laboratory data.
- support other team members on various initiatives, including contributing to technical memos and reports with guidance from experienced professionals.
- develop practical data skills by creating and organizing data tables using internal and online systems to support regulatory reporting and environmental documentation.
Required:
- You will be entering your third or fourth year as a university student specializing in environmental sciences, natural sciences, or a related field;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- Excellent communication and organization skills; and
- You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.
Recommended:
- Previous field-based experience; and
- All-terrain vehicle (ATV) and/or snowmobile safety course(s) would be an asset.
Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; and
- Pre-employment substance test.
