Job Summary
Working as the Catering Sales Manager at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, you will effectively coordinate and oversee external catering events with the primary focus on university, non-profit, association, and corporate events. You will be responsible for direct selling and for working with clients from the initial inquiry until the event completion. You will be the liaison between the external catering clients and our internal client and operations team to ensure the event is successful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically manage existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Complete monthly sales activity reports.
- Maintain an expert-level command of venue specifications, space configurations, and menu trends.
- Proactively refine menus and service packages to align with client expectations while implementing strategic upgrades to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct site visits with existing and potential clients.
- Create proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
- Prepare and monitor budgets; financial targets and forecasts.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and industry partners through networking events.
- Supervise the execution of contracted catering events.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Catering.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience

Proven track record for meeting sales goals

High-energy, relationship-driven sales professional with a documented track record of identifying and managing profitable partnerships

Strong knowledge of current food, industry trends and fine dining points of service

A minimum of two years of experience in hospitality industry ideally in catering sales

Ability to assess client requirements and deliver ensuring client satisfaction

A detail-focused professional who thrives on organization and proactive follow-up

Excellent communication with internal banquet and culinary team members

Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills

Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and event software

Proactive mindset and able to remain calm under pressure to anticipate and support changes in our business

Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior

Exceptional client relations and customer service abilities
