- Assists with direct care of the patient/resident (dressing, grooming, ambulating, toileting, transferring).
- Prepares and assists with meals and distributes water and other nourishments according to the needs of the patient/resident.
- Measures vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure and reports them to the nurse.
- Provides routine am/pm care and assists with routine skin care.
- Assists with I & O’s, empties and measures patient’s drainage containers and documents I & O appropriately.
- Collects specimens, labels properly, transports to proper area in a timely manner following established procedures.
- Participates in shift report communicating information to oncoming staff.
- Makes round willingly and promptly responds to call lights.
- Participates in clinical learning experiences for orientees and students.
