About Us

Höegh Autoliners is a global leader in Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro/Ro) deep-sea transportation services. Operating a fleet of approximately 50 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs), we make over 3,000 port calls annually and serve some of the world's leading automotive and heavy machinery manufacturers. With a network of around 20 offices worldwide, we are committed to delivering excellence across the global maritime industry.

About You

You are an experienced maritime professional with a strong background in vessel chartering, fleet strategy, and commercial decision-making. You enjoy working in a fast-paced global environment and have the expertise to balance commercial opportunities with operational needs.

As Chartering Manager, you will develop and execute Höegh Autoliners' vessel chartering strategy to ensure optimal fleet capacity, operational flexibility, and commercial competitiveness. You will also lead Sale & Purchase (S&P) activities, continuously monitor vessel market conditions, assess chartering opportunities and capacity risks, and help ensure the fleet is well-positioned to support changing customer demand, network growth, fleet renewal, and long-term profitability.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute Höegh Autoliners' chartering strategy to optimize fleet capacity and commercial performance.
  • Execute Sale & Purchase (S&P) activities in line with the company's overall fleet strategy.
  • Provide the required fleet capacity at the lowest possible cost by chartering vessels in and out based on market conditions and fleet utilization.
  • Monitor and analyze the global tonnage market, including chartering activity, Sale & Purchase transactions, newbuilding developments, and vessel recycling activity.
  • Drive chartering policies and strategies, including risk assessments related to vessel owners and individual vessels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tonnage providers and brokers while defining Höegh Autoliners' broker engagement strategy.
  • Ensure fleet and vessel master data is accurate and up to date across relevant IT systems, marketing materials, and standard presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Trade Management, Legal, Finance, Insurance, and Technical Management.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in vessel operations, trade management, and vessel chartering.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end chartering process, including Sale & Purchase (S&P).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical, commercially minded, and able to make sound decisions in a dynamic market.
  • Self-driven, structured, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across global teams.

We believe that building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive environment for working and learning leads to a better workplace, better ideas and more inspiring conversations.
