The Innovation Co-Lab within Duke University's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Co-Lab Professional Fabrication & Design Specialist to lead the Bluesmith and DesignHub professional fabrication services. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and technically skilled professional to help students, faculty, and staff transform innovative ideas into reality through advanced design and fabrication technologies.
In this highly collaborative, hands-on role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for fabrication and design projects from initial consultation through final delivery.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a creative field or equivalent experience
- Experience creating 3D models using CAD software
- Experience with additive manufacturing technologies
- Demonstrated experience managing fabrication workflows
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Lead daily operations of Bluesmith and DesignHub
- Manage fabrication equipment, inventory, and service delivery
- Design and deliver workshops and training
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and researchers
