Career Opportunity

We are looking for 310T Coach Technician!.  These positions are required to work a 40 hour work week at TTC Garages across the City of Toronto. We have Day, Afternoon and Night shifts with various off-days.  Come join our team!

You will perform the maintenance, servicing, inspection, repair, cleaning, and emergency road service functions for both revenue and non-revenue vehicles in order to provide safe, clean and mechanically reliable vehicles for the city of Toronto.

Location and Shift Details

TTC has 10 Bus Garages strategically positioned across Toronto, offering you the opportunity to work with industry-leading technology and setting the stage for a dynamic career. Our modern fleet, featuring hybrid and new electric buses, ensures a cutting-edge and environmentally friendly work environment.  

 

Successful candidates will be placed at any of our 10 garages based on available vacancies. You will be assigned a specific shift and off days.

 

Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certification with Interprovincial Red Seal is mandatory requirement for this role.

What You Will Do

You will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of a diverse fleet of passenger vehicles, including diesel, gasoline and hybrid powered coaches.

This is more than just a maintenance role – it’s a hands-on opportunity to work with cutting-edge transportation systems and make a real impact on passenger safety and comfort. 

  • This position may be required to primarily work on a designated job assignment (e.g. Inspections, Dynometer Operator, Engines, etc.) and performing varied and complex work on a variety of vehicles, service vehicles and related equipment
  • Conducting tests, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, parts replacements and adjustments on all vehicle systems including power train, fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, door systems, air conditioning systems and components including control and auxiliary operating equipment
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and road service calls
  • Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within the area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer

What Skills and Qualifications Do You Have?

  • Must have a valid Province of Ontario Truck & Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification (310-T) license, and/or a Red Seal license
  • Completed Grade 12 or its recognized equivalent
  • Valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license in good standing and able to upgrade to a "CZ" license
  • Successful completion of all mandatory training and testing required for this position includes, but is not limited to the ability to upgrade to a “CZ” driver’s license, direct current fundamentals, automotive circuits, air conditioning and chlorofluorocarbon certification (CFC), multiplex wiring, electronic transmission and engine controls and passenger accessibility equipment. Failure to successfully complete related training and testing will result in removal from the position
  • Must provide a set of hand tools as per the tool list established by the TTC
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
