ROLE SUMMARY

This is an Onsite position based at our Main Office location in Gastonia, NC.

The Commodity Manager Americas - Steel has North America (U.S., Mexico, and Canada) responsibility for all procurement activities, projects, supplier quality, and commodity processes for Steel procurement. This position will have responsibility over the Transportation business unit. The Commodity Manager Americas - Steel is responsible for managing the execution of all relevant strategic and tactical steel procurement tasks within the commodity group for North America.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute Commodity and Supplier strategies for Steel procurement
  • Lead North American strategic planning, forecasting, and reporting of Steel procurement
  • Responsible for material price development within the Steel commodity
  • Drive sourcing decisions in collaboration with Commodity Buyers
  • Identify and approve new suppliers and manage supplier relations
  • Responsible for supplier risk management
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms
  • Supplier Performance Management

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 4 years relevant procurement experience

Required Skills:
• Advanced negotiation skills
• Excellent English communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

Preferred Skills:
• SAP / SAP BW experience
• Automotive industry procurement experience
• Raw materials (Steel) procurement experience (strongly preferred)
