About the role

 

As Compliance Officer, you will join Ipswich City Council's Animal Management and Biosecurity team playing an important role in supporting community safety and legislative compliance.  You will undertake investigations and work in line with Council's Local Laws, the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008, and other relevant legislation.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Investigating animal management matters in accordance with adopted policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Providing high-quality customer service through telephone, face-to-face and field-based interactions with the community.
  • Conducting property inspections and liaising with owners and occupiers regarding legislative compliance and enforcement matters.

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

    • Experience undertaking investigations and making sound decisions based on evidence, policy and legislation.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently manage challenging situations.
    • Resilience, adaptability and a collaborative approach to working as part of a supportive team.
    • A current C Class Driver Licence.
    • A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or substantial equivalent experience.
    • A Construction Induction Card (White Card) where required.

About the benefits

 

This is a permanent full time position with a salary commencing at $88,195 plus 12.5% superannuation. The commencing salary will be determined based on the successful applicant's skills, experience and demonstrated capability.
