The Component & Product Engineer - PCBA will design process flow through each manufacturing steps, interacts with R&Ds during design phases (compatibility of product definition with Manufacturing plant ERP/MES systems), by supporting Industrialization Program Manager, supports production in quality improvement and suggests CI and VAVE projects  to enhance EATON operational productivity.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Liaison officer between R&D (customer) and manufacturing plant ERP/MES systems
  • Creation of BOM & BOL for NPIs in SAP, with routines
  • Review and recommend substitute components for new designs for improvements in supply chain, design robustness and maintainability
  • Treatment and implementation of Engineering Change Notification (ECN)
  • Implement risk management strategies to address obsolescence and proactively identify and address future obsolescence
  • Lead cost reduction projects in design control
  • Participate to component data analysis and failure identification-on supplier quality topics
  • Identify components in production line on request
  • Part of a cross-functional team in implementing product component changes within the Company
  • Provide guidance regarding part selection, design concepts, specification requirements, critical components and alternate sources
  • Quality review of the component parameter attributes from datasheets
  • Create a cross R&Ds component database for all the Electrical/ Electronic & Indirect materials
  • Secure that industrialization team is working with update to date R&D inputs data: BOM, process flow, Panel definition, Test specifications, manufacturing process requirements and CTQs, etc...
  • Proactive in manufacturing work instructions for Prototypes manufacturing, for NPI and transfered PCBA projects
  • Support Industrialization program manager in ProLaunch Manufacturing delivrables release: Process flow Chart, PFMEA, PPAP, etc..
  • Support Industrialization program manager to influence PCB/PCBA design through DFM reviews, with R&D
  • Ensure PCBA/Product ECO/MCO effective implementation in due time
  • Support 4.0 initiatives on related equipment/processes for digitalization and connectivity to kepware/Ignition/MES (RTPPM, Traceability, SPC, etc..)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing engineering. Strong knowledge on soldering is a plus.

Skills:

  • Demonstrating Component and Product Master data management experience in ERP & MES
  • NPI & VAVE PCBA introduction in Manufacturing plant information system
  • Significant experience as industrialization project member: interface with R&Ds, and with plant teams: Process, SCM, production
  • Strong knowledge on PCBA manufacturing processes and equipments (SMT, Wave, Coating, Testing, Packaging,..)
  • Expert in ERP & MES set-up for PCBA NPI , transfert and ECOs
  • Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and quality control practices
  • SMT & THT component strong knowledge (Material, Risks & weaknesses, etc..)
  • Good communication with pedagogic skills and spirit of synthesis
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work with multiple plant stakeholders, R&D engineers, and strongly support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Safety oriented in operations, in line with EATON MESH and operational activities
