1. Financial Operations & Ledger Management
• Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to IFRS and internal ac-
counting policies.
• Maintain trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, and perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), managing local vendor payments, credit control,
daily cash allocations, and aging reports.
• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for all local Tanzanian bank accounts and post bank charges
accurately.
• Check and code all petty cash claims; ensure petty cash is reconciled monthly to the cash float with valid sup-
porting documentation and authorized signatures.
• Review, monitor, process, and post staff operational and travel expense forms.
2. Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings
• Ensure full compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations across all tax handles:
– Prepare and file Value Added Tax (VAT) returns via EFD/VFD systems.
– Compute and file Withholding Tax (WHT) on supplier invoices and local service agreements.
– Oversee monthly PAYE (Pay As You Earn) computations and ensure timely remittals on or before legal due
dates.
• Support statutory payroll deductions and filings for local bodies: National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Workers
Compensation Fund (WCF), and Skills Development Levy (SDL).
3. External Audit & Local Governance
• Serve as the primary focal point for annual external audits for the legal entity in Tanzania.
• Prepare comprehensive audit schedules, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, assemble transactional
backing evidence, and resolve audit queries to support external filing of local statutory financial statements in
compliance with NBAA standards.
• Facilitate local tax audits, inquiries, or reconciliations requested by TRA.
4. Cash Flow, Treasury & Stock Control
• Liquidity & Forecasting: Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts to maintain optimal local liquidity for operational,
tax, and capital obligations.
• FX & Banking: Manage TZS/USD foreign exchange exposure and local banking relationships in compliance with
Bank of Tanzania (BOT) regulations and regional treasury guidelines.
• Working Capital Control: Monitor accounts receivable collections and vendor payment cycles to optimize cash
conversion and minimize trapped capital in tax/VAT offsets.
• Inventory Governance: Monitor levels of stock items, handle import stock items/customs documentation, an-
alyze monthly stock issuance, investigate variances, and enforce internal control systems to safeguard assets
against misuse, fraud, or error.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Statutory Compliance: Zero penalties or interest incurred for late/incorrect TRA or statutory filings (VAT, WHT,
PAYE, NSSF, WCF, SDL).
• Reporting Deadlines: On-time delivery of month-end closing files, real-time accounting updates, and balance
sheet reconciliations.
• Audit Execution: Clean external audit report with minimal audit adjustments under NBAA and regional standards.
• Reconciliation Quality: All balance sheet acaccounts are fullyounts fully reconciled monthly with documented backing files.
