Role Overview We are seeking an autonomous, detail-oriented Country Accounting & Tax Lead to own the financial integrity, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and tax advisory function of our Thailand entity. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management position — the incumbent acts as the critical local anchor for Thailand, working in close partnership with a regional Shared Service Center (SSC) — based primarily in Vietnam — that handles the volume of routine, day-to-day transaction processing. The company has recently transitioned from a startup to a corporate structure, and the pace of business growth and expanding scope continues to outrun the back office's ability to keep up. Financial processes and control environments are still maturing as a result. This role is not a caretaker position — the incumbent will need to help establish and embed the discipline, documentation, and control habits that a growing multinational requires, often starting from a limited or informal baseline, while the business itself keeps moving and changing shape underneath them. Rather than building or managing a local team, you will be the hands-on owner of all local tax filings, statutory obligations, and financial validations. While the SSC prepares the underlying financial data, you are the ultimate owner of its accuracy and integrity. Key Responsibilities Financial Governance • Hold ultimate ownership over the accuracy and integrity of all accounting functions prepared by the SSC, including financial statements, reconciliations, closing entries, and other core processes. • Take ownership of the annual statutory audit from start to finish, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and coordinating information requests with the regional team. • Help build out financial controls, documentation, and review discipline where they don't yet exist, and continually adapt them as the business grows and changes faster than typical process cycles can accommodate.
Shared Service Center Liaison • Monitor the quality and timeliness of work delivered by the SSC against agreed service expectations, particularly as transaction volume and complexity increase. • Provide feedback when issues arise to support timely and effective resolution. • Identify inefficiencies or friction points in the working relationship between local operations and the SSC, and put forward improvements to processes or ways of working.
Tax & Compliance • Act as the primary authority on Thai tax and accounting matters, advising the business on commercial arrangements and interpreting regulatory requirements as questions arise. • Own the end-to-end preparation, reconciliation, and filing of all statutory tax returns and related regulatory submissions, ensuring deadlines are consistently met even as business activity scales quickly. • Take the lead on complex or sensitive matters, including disputes with external partners or authorities, and see them through to resolution.
