As a key contributor to our digital data future, the Media Data Architect plays a strategic role in driving competitive advantage within the Global Digital Technology & Data organization. Reporting to a Digital Data Delivery lead, this role is crucial for supporting our high-growth E-commerce and Digital Marketing business functions.

The core responsibility includes strategic innovation: designing, governing, scaling, and maintaining our modern, cloud-based data foundation. This foundation serves as the "single source of truth" for all global digital data initiatives.

This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Architectural Strategy & Design: Design and govern scalable data models and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, GCP) that support high-velocity digital data streams while optimizing for performance, cost efficiency, and business flexibility. Own the technical roadmap that evolves our architecture to meet both current and future business demands.
  • Enterprise Data Integration: Own the integration strategy connecting our core Tech stack (CDPs, Google Analytics, CRM) with our enterprise data warehouse, creating digital data products and enabling seamless data flow across systems..
  • Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical authority and strategic partner within GIT, translating complex business requirements into clear technical architectures, data products, and implementation roadmaps that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Data Pipeline Architecture & Optimization: Ensure that pipelines are compliant with Colgate’s architectural vision and standards for ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring automated data pipelines are resilient, fully monitored, and optimized for both batch and real-time processing at enterprise scale.

 

Required Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Data Architecture Experience: Professional experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar technical roles, with a minimum of 2 years specifically designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions at enterprise scale.
  • Cloud Data Platform & Infrastructure Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with at least one major cloud data platform (Snowflake, AWS, or Azure), with hands-on experience in DevOps and infrastructure operations including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation. Must be able to articulate previous production implementations and architectural designs in detail.
  • Core Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to design and optimize complex data models for enterprise environments, including relational, NoSQL, and dimensional schemas.
  • Systems Integration & Architectural Leadership: Proven experience designing and implementing integrations across complex technology ecosystems . Demonstrated ability to lead technical architectural discussions, translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical decisions with business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Digital Platform Knowledge: Experience with platforms such as Salesforce Data Cloud, Segment, mParticle, GA4, Trade Desk, DV360, and data clean room solutions.
  • AI-Ready Data Architecture: Demonstrated understanding of data structures, architectural patterns required to make data AI ready. Knowledge of data quality standards, lineage tracking and other industry best practices.
  • Innovation & Modern Data Stack Adoption: History of evaluating and adopting emerging data technologies (dbt, Dataform, Airflow, modern orchestration frameworks), implementing industry best practices, and driving organizational shifts from legacy to modern architectures. Evidence of proactive problem-solving and commitment to measurable outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $96,800.00 - $137,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
