Bailey Abbott have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our Data Intelligence capability. Our Data Intelligence specialists work within an active community of practice, enabling you to benefit from their years of collective experience and wisdom.

Working as a Data Engineer you will get the opportunity to:

• Represent Bailey Abbott as a trusted consultant, applying your expertise to deliver high‑quality, value‑driven outcomes for clients • Design, build, and maintain modern data pipelines across cloud‑native and hybrid data ecosystems • Engineer scalable ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation solutions using contemporary data engineering frameworks and patterns • Apply modern data architecture principles such as lakehouse designs, layered data models, and domain‑driven data products • Build and optimise data models, semantic layers, and analytical datasets that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational use cases • Develop solutions for both batch and real‑time/streaming data workloads with a focus on reliability, data quality, and observability • Embed “governance by design” including lineage, cataloguing, access control, security, metadata‑driven approaches, and data quality frameworks • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code across data engineering workloads using modern programming and scripting practices • Contribute to CI/CD, DataOps and automation practices including testing, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, architects and stakeholders to design data solutions aligned to business needs and strategic outcomes • Stay current with emerging data engineering approaches, architectures and best practices in the rapidly evolving data ecosystem
