About the Data Engineer role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to work at the cutting edge of modern data platforms and applied AI. Sitting within a high-performing Data & AI squad, you’ll play a key role in building scalable, cloud-based data solutions that power real business outcomes. From developing robust data pipelines to contributing to next-generation AI and Generative AI use cases, this role offers genuine variety, impact, and the chance to work on meaningful, forward-thinking technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver scalable, high-performance data pipelines and platforms using Azure and Databricks

Build and optimise ELT/ETL workflows leveraging Spark (PySpark) and SQL

Develop reliable batch and streaming data solutions to support business-critical analytics and AI use cases

Contribute to the design and development of AI and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications

Implement best practices across data modelling, quality, governance, and architecture

Develop data pipelines supporting GenAI use cases (e.g. embeddings, vector data, LLM outputs)

Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful, production-ready solutions
Skills & Experience:
-
Solid experience as a Data Engineer in a cloud environment, ideally within Microsoft Azure
-
Strong hands-on capability with Databricks, Spark (PySpark) and SQL
-
Proven ability to design and optimise data pipelines and data models
-
Understanding of CI/CD, version control, and testing practices within data environments
-
Exposure to AI/LLM-based solutions or advanced analytics use cases is highly regarded
-
Familiarity with Azure services (e.g. Data Factory, DevOps) and an interest in MLOps/LLMOps
