POSITION SUMMARY:    

Join our team as a Demand Planner and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. In this highly visible position, you'll lead regional demand forecasting for a dynamic technology manufacturing environment, helping ensure we have the right products available to meet customer needs and support growth. You'll leverage data, market insights, and cross-functional partnerships to translate complex demand signals into actionable plans across multiple forecasting horizons.

Working closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, you'll influence key business decisions, improve forecast accuracy, and drive greater agility across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and making a measurable impact in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment characterized by long product lifecycles and evolving customer demands.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Forecasting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts at multiple levels (SKU, region, customer) using statistical models and business inputs.
  • Analyze historical trends, customer behavior, and external indicators to refine forecast accuracy.
  • Own forecast accuracy metrics (e.g., MAPE, forecast bias) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support revenue predictability and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead Business Unit forecast performance reviews and implement corrective actions to improve bias and accuracy metrics.
  • Conduct scenario planning to assess demand risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with supply and commercial teams.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to align demand plans with financial forecasts, capacity planning, and inventory strategies.
  • Participate in data collection and analysis for insights and risks for S&OP and executive planning meetings.

 

Process & Tool Optimization

  • Champion digital planning capabilities and continuous improvement in forecasting processes.
  • Utilize advanced planning tools (SAP IBP) and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Leverage predictive analytics to enhance forecast precision and scenario modeling.

 

Inventory & Supply Alignment

  • Support inventory optimization and working capital initiatives by aligning demand with supply and production plans.
  • Collaborate with supply planning and operations to ensure demand signals translate into executable plans.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO. On-site role.
  • Environment: Standard office environment.
  • Travel: Global and domestic travel is required, up to 10%

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with global demand patterns and long-cycle sales forecasting.
  • Advanced analytical skills using and developing Power BI, Tableau analytics.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of integrated business planning (IBP) and S&OE processes.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in demand planning or supply chain roles within a B2B manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Strong experience with statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning KPIs (e.g., MAPE, forecast bias).
  • Proven experience with planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, IBP, Oracle Demantra, Anaplan or Kinaxis).
  • Experience in a global, multi-channel environment (direct and distributor sales preferred).

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • APICS CPIM, IBF CPF/CLP, or equivalent certifications strongly preferred; commitment to continuous learning in forecasting and digital planning tools is essential.

 

COMPENSATION:                     

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  The range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 to $110,000 per year.
