We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Deputy Head of IT, HSBC Securities (GCB 4/SVP)

 

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Able to deputize IT Head Role for HSBC Korea Securities, providing leadership cover and continuity for critical decisions and delivery
  • Own end-to-end technology support for Equity Execution Platforms, including FIX and API connectivity; lead major incident management by coordinating Global IT, local business, vendors and regulatory reporting activities where required
  • Provide strategic oversight of core infrastructure services, including networks, Linux Server and data center capabilities, ensuring resilience, performance and operational readiness
  • Lead security and compliance from end-user computing, driving continuous improvement in controls, audit readiness, and policy adherence
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the business and with external parties (KRX, KOSCOM and FSS), ensuring transparent communication and stable IT operations
  • Drive cross-region alignment and delivery by partnering closely with HSBC APAC IT leadership and teams
  • Direct the annual IT security risk assessment programme, ensuring high-quality submissions and timely reporting to local regulators

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Network Communication or a related IT field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience across infrastructure and/or trading application support within financial institutions, strong preference for securities brokerage or investment bank environments

  • Strong working knowledge of local regulatory expectations and compliance obligations relevant to IT operations and trading technology

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across function and geographies – business, compliance, regional IT and global teams

  • Deep understanding of IT security principles, controls and industry best practices with experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews

  • Proven track record in leading teams and managing high-severity incidents under pressure with clear accountability and disciplined execution

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills including engagement with regulators and external vendors
