Salary Grade: SO1   

 

Salary Range: £69,469 - £78,250 per annum 

   

Working Arrangements: 36 hours per week

 

About the Role:

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Deputy Team Manager to join the Children in Need Team.

The Children in Need Team is responsible for undertaking assessments of children and families, developing intervention plans for children in need and supporting children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes.

As Deputy Team Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of the Social Workers and Assistant Social Workers within the team and be accountable for the performance management of those members of the team. You will be accustomed to employing social work principles such as dignity, respect, empathy, and strength based, collaborative approach to service delivery.

As the Deputy Team Manager for the Child in Need Team, you will need to assist the Team Manager in in the management, development, and leadership of the social work team to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children, young people, and their families. To ensure the team delivers high quality services that address need and lead to improved outcomes in a timely manner. To deputise for the Team Manager when required.

This role comes with a competitive salary, progressive annual leave and entitlement to a pension scheme. We will also consider previous service in a substantive post in the NHS or Local Authority towards entitlement to annual leave, maternity leave and sick pay.

Employment Permit: This role offers eligible off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit, subject to UK and Guernsey Immigration Clearance where applicable. This permit enables candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them.
