We are looking for a Design Engineer to contribute to the mechanical design team on new product development across a variety of SRAM's cycling components.

You will join a highly effective and passionate team of engineers on our Product Development team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Just outside the back door of our office are numerous trails and Colorado Springs offers more than 300 sunny days a year. Our engineering area is resourced with numerous engineering work benches, in-house prototyping capabilities, and an on-site test lab.

Not all SRAM engineers are cyclists, but we all have a passion for creating our world class products. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality mechanical products for drop bar hydraulic brakes and drivetrain controls (electronic and mechanical shifters)
  • Apply SRAM engineering best practices and standard procedures to creative problem solving
  • Document design specifications using standard documentation practices
  • Collaborate regularly with engineers and cross-functional project teams
  • Facilitate problem resolution within design teams and with suppliers
  • Mitigate design risks through proactive design analysis and risk management methodologies
  • Provide input on and design for manufacturing processes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product design or a related engineering field
  • Proficiency in engineering tools including statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysis
  • CAD experience required; Creo Parametric preferred
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including forging, CNC machining/turning, and stamping
  • Strong structured problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, failure investigations, PDCA, A3 thinking)
  • Effective communicator across a broad audience and across cultures
  • Ability to travel internationally, primarily to Asia, up to four times per year for one to two weeks at a time
  • Passion for continuous learning, self-improvement, and contributing to team growth
