Summary
Detailer will be responsible for creating detailed production drawings and helping to develop efficient and cost effective production techniques. The Detailer will work closely with production to collaborate on best practices for delivery of effective drawings and CNC router files as needed.
This position will support our Growth, Creative, Graphics, and Operations teams. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week.
The ideal candidate will be located in Chicago, IL; however, we are also open to candidates based out of:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop detailed production ready detail drawings depicting fabrication, construction and assembly of structures for exhibit and event projects, using CAD software.
- Lay out and depict functional components for production and show site installation and assembly.
- Modify and revise designs to correct construction deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Prepare comprehensive BOM lists for production.
- Collaborate with others to determine technical details of productions.
- Consult with other departments to identify optimal construction methods while respecting the original design.
- Recommends design modifications to eliminate unnecessary costs or labor hours, and/or construction problems.
- Partner with Designers to provide feedback on construction challenges.
- Perform QA/QC on Production Designer's drawings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Detailing and/or Drafting.
- Demonstrated extensive proficiency in the use of 3D AutoCAD and drawing package creation.
- Knowledge of Data Mgmt: Autodesk Vault, Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Office Software: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Teams, and MS Excel.
- Ability to focus on details & comprehensive BOM’s.
- Extensive knowledge of custom trade show production techniques (custom cabinetry acceptable).
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong attention to deadlines.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None Required. AutoCAD Certified Professional preferred.
