The impact you’ll make

Drives development and implementation of corporate policy through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives. Company’s contact for legislative and public policy matters. Serves as company liaison to and fosters relationships with key members of government and industry groups to promote company interests. Prepares policy briefings, testimony for pending legislative actions and provides thought leadership and recommendations. Ensures appropriate company participation in government forums and industry group meetings. Works with policymakers, leaders of government and industry councils and lobbyists to influence public policy, monitor government initiatives and advocate for specific plans to advance the company’s objectives. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

What you’ll do

  • Supporting Managing Director, International Government Affairs; working closely and collaboratively Lam leadership to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Develop focused Government Affairs strategy for Lam China based on business objectives, political and trade environment as well as the shifting regulatory requirements.
  • Leading key projects, developing and maintaining beneficial and proactive relationships with key public stakeholders as the representative of Lam China to secure beneficial policies including but not limited to regulatory support for Lam’s global supply chain, political outreach to maintain Lam’s positive reputation, access and engagement on localization policymakers, and support Global Trade -related regulatory exposure.
  • Driving sustained relationships at the central and local level and helping to develop brand trust with Government, NGOs, industry associations and academic stakeholders and communities.
  • Developing a framework for Government Affairs practice in China and provide guidance to other team members on approach and interaction with relevant Government departments to achieve a long-term collaborative relationship with the PRCG.
  • Monitoring PRCG development of regulation and policy as they affect Lam China and the semiconductor ecosystem.    Develop analysis and strategic responses where relevant to Lam and the industry. Where applicable, provide updates and advice to team members of resulting impact (if any) on operations.
  • Leading and managing relationships with strategic stakeholders across industry associations and the Government including relevant Ministries and agencies in alignment with Lam’s objectives including uplifting Lam’s visibility in critical industry groups and bilateral fora.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Lam China’s management and account teams, assist in political and regulatory aspects of account management.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
