The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

St. Dominic High School is a Catholic, co-educational college preparatory school serving approximately 1,150 students in grades 9–12 in O’Fallon, Missouri. Rooted in faith, academic excellence, and community, St. Dominic is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to serve as our Director of Special Events. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Director of Advancement and is available for immediate hire.The Director of Special Events is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of school-sponsored events that support the mission and advancement efforts of St. Dominic High School. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, vendors, and benefactors. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a variety of special events hosted by the school, including fundraising, donor, alumni, and community events
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with event vendors, venues, and service providers
  • Recruit, organize, and oversee volunteers before and during events
  • Manage event-related software platforms, registrations, and databases
  • Cultivate positive relationships with benefactors and supporters in connection with special events
  • Assist with the general operations and initiatives of the Advancement Office
  • Ensure events are aligned with the mission, values, and standards of St. Dominic High School
  • Maintain event budgets, timelines, and logistical planning details

Job Requirements

  • Experience in event planning, fundraising, hospitality, advancement, or related fields preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
  • Proficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school
