Job Overview

The Marketing Communications team at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business implements best-in-class marketing strategies and tactics to position the college as a leading co-op business school that empowers business problem solving. We tell the Lindner College of Business story — and it’s a great one. In collaboration with partners across Lindner and UC, our team develops college-branded material that can be used to recruit future students, engage alumni, donors and strategic partners, and inform relevant audiences about college happenings and the success stories of our students, faculty, staff and alumni.

 

The Director of Marketing position will oversee the full marketing and communications activity of all Lindner College of Business strategic initiatives, work closely with the Lindner leadership, and manage a dynamic, high performing team.

 

This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following 90 days of training. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies. 

 

Essential Functions

Strategy

  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing, strategy, activity, direction, and operations of the communication, advertising, lead-generation, and recruitment functions of the college.
  • Lead marketing and communications constituents to develop and implement a branding strategy that incorporates the overall vision, mission, goals and strategic plan of the college.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and multi-channel marketing structure with the goal of increasing student enrollments and revenue, while positively shaping Lindner’s brand identify, profile, and visibility within local, national, and international markets.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to college departments to ensure alignment with brand, marketing strategy, process, management of marketing tools/resources, and Lindner’s mission.
  • Strategize with college leaders to further develop and implement a marketing strategy for improving national reputation for Lindner programs and rankings.

 

Operations:

  • Oversee brand control in alignment with UC and Lindner brand standards.
  • Manage internal and external public relations, including local and national media.
  • Manage selected vendors by negotiating contracts, ensuring financial process/payment, and executing and receiving deliverables.
  • Manage department’s strategic initiatives budget and operating expenditures including multi-year projections.
  • Create and implement interdepartmental processes and procedures that increase productivity and improve outcomes, including metrics to measure impact and value.

 

Team Management:

  • Provide direct supervision to department team members (hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, mentoring, resource management, etc.).
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of team through managing production timelines, costs and staff assignments.
  • Supervise the content and design of print publications, websites, social media, environmental branding, etc. to maintain design standards and to ensure strategic objectives are met.
  • Provide creative direction to team members and college units as needed to support projects and events.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience

Seven (7) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Preferred three (3) years of experience supervising teams, with a strong track record of leadership, mentorship, and strategic project management.
  • Evidence of developing and maintaining positive relationships and partnerships.
  • Experience working with or for higher learning institutions.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
