Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Director of Operations Patient Access, to join the Northern Health team.

 

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

 

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

 

About the Role:

The Director of Operations – Patient Access, leads and coordinates staff, patients, systems and resources to achieve optimal utilisation of bed capacity across all Northern Health sites at a strategic and operational level. This is a critical role, operating as a key enabler in ensuring Northern Health is responsive to the needs of its community by maximising access to services.

 

The role works across all sites of Northern Health to consolidate, coordinate and integrate patient access across the entire organisation

 

The Director of Operations – Access is responsible for developing, reviewing and executing improvement strategies to optimise utilisation of planned and unplanned patient services across all Northern Health to achieve excellence in access to healthcare services. The Director of Operations – Access is also responsible for patient transport across all services sites.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current APRHA as a Registered Nurse
  • Tertiary or master’s qualifications in health services management or working towards same
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in Health Care
  • Extensive operational experience in bed management/patient access and demonstrated ability in managing patient access challenges within the public health system.
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant performance frameworks, policies and targets pertaining to the public health sector in Victoria.
  • Highly developed ability in generating and maintaining collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, both internal and external, to generate and enhance system developments, policy and planning Demonstrated ability in providing strategic leadership and influence
