Salary Grade: PSE Garde D

   

Salary Range: £648.39 - £670.98 per week / £17.0629 - £17.6574 per hour (plus £2.56 per hour discretionary payment) 

   

Working Arrangements: Full Time

    

The States of Guernsey is looking for a Driver/Plant Operator to join their team at States Works.

Driver/Plant Operators are deployed as necessary across the States Works business units and are required to operate multiple vehicles and specialist plant across all areas of the Division. Post-holders are likely to initially be assigned to one business unit, but will be required to be deployed to other units should the need arise.

Driver/Plant Operators can be required to work in any States Works business unit, which includes but is not limited to the following sections:

• Sewage Collection Service
• Cleansing
• Highways
• Land Management
• Waste Services
• Engineering Services

The services States Works provides are often on a commercial basis and driven by client needs. Driver/Plant Operators should therefore understand there is a requirement to work flexibly, both in terms of working hours (as this will vary depending on the section) and duties. There is also an element of manual work which the post-holders are expected to undertake, when requested to do so.

Driver/Plant Operators are responsible to the relevant Section Manager and are required to work across a range of operational areas. He/she is required to liaise in an efficient and effective manner with clients across the States of Guernsey, private organisations, suppliers, contractors, colleagues and members of the general public.
