Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Ducting Inspector - 2nd Shift to join our team in Beltsville, MD!

The core hours are 2 pm - 10 pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.50 per hour + 10% shift differential.

What you’ll do:

The Ducting Inspector is responsible for inspecting dimensions to print for our ducting value stream. They uphold the quality and integrity of all parts manufactured and support operations in a leadership facet to help meet goals to both our suppliers and customers. 

 

In this role, you will:
•  Inspect welded aerospace ducts for conformance to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications 
•  Verify weld size, contour, penetration, and joint fit-up 
•  Identify weld defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, burn-through, or distortion 
•  Perform visual weld inspections using mirrors, borescopes, magnification, and inspection lighting 
•  Ensure welds meet applicable standards 
•  Measure duct dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go/no-go gauges, and templates 
•  Verify part geometry, roundness, flange alignment, and overall configuration 
•  Inspect duct assemblies for proper orientation, clocking, and assembly sequence

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of welding or quality experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Technical certification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working with inspection plans, first piece layout, FAIR’s, mil certs and COC’s
  • Advanced experience reading blueprints, GD & T, and CMM training/certification
  • Knowledge of scanning and programming from solid models Mitutoyo, MCOSMOS software

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to read, write, and speak with teammates and customers.
  • Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours/day with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to to lift up to 35lbs. without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical specifications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to organize and report test results
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision
  • Possible exposure to radiation through the use of a XRF device for scanning materials
