About the ENT/Head & Neck department

The ENT/Head and Neck Department is part of the Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia and Procedural Medicine.  It is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients across Austin Health, which is situated at Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.  

 

The Unit is committed to the provision of high-quality patient care and maintains an ongoing commitment to Under Graduate and Post Graduate teaching that includes Medical Students, Postgraduate Nurses, Hospital Medical Officers, Registrars and many others. Also provided is a consultative service for other Units with Austin Health. ENT surgery services are provided at both the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital sites.

 

About the role 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic Medical Practitioners to join our team as an Unaccredited ENT Head & Neck Registrar in the ENT Unit for the 2027 Clinical Year (commencing February 2027 for 12 months).  

 

The priority for this position is to assist the Director & Accredited Registrars, and the rest of the team run the ENT Unit efficiently and effectively across two campuses (Austin and Repatriation Hospitals).

 

The role is designed to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable the Doctor to attain the required skills and knowledge for that term in that discipline. In addition, skills progression should assist the registrar to meet the requirements of specialist training program

 

About you 

You’ll further bring with you: 

  • A commitment to the Austin Health values.
  • Able to be registered in Australia with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Significant ENT resident or registrar experience
  • Baseline level of ENT knowledge to allow safe management of patients when on-call
  • Completed Basic Surgical Trainee years 1 & 2 (not essential)
