Kick‑Start Your Career as an Electrical Instrumentation Apprentice

We’re searching for motivated and reliable individuals who are ready to commit to a four‑year Apprenticeship and begin a rewarding career as an Electrical Instrumentation Technician. If you’re someone who enjoys hands‑on learning, problem‑solving, and working with real industrial technology, this pathway will set you up for a strong future in the trade.

What You’ll Be Doing

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll receive high‑quality training that blends practical, on‑the‑job experience with structured classroom learning. This combination ensures you gain the confidence and capability needed to complete your nationally recognised qualification.

As an Apprentice Electrical Instrumentation Technician, you’ll be introduced to the electrical and instrumentation systems used across the entire site. Your training will take you through maintenance, installation, and fault‑finding on a wide range of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment. You’ll learn how different instruments operate and how they monitor and control essential variables such as flow, level, pressure, density, and temperature. Along the way, you’ll work with everything from simple lighting and power circuits to more advanced systems like variable speed drives, giving you a broad foundation in both electrical and instrumentation work.

The program begins in February 2026, with varied rosters across the 4 years.

Who We’re Looking For

To be eligible, you must:

  • Hold a C‑class driver’s licence (provisional accepted).
  • Ideally have completed a pre‑apprenticeship. (highly regarded but not essential)
  • Have a genuine interest in machinery, engines, electronics and precision equipment.
  • Be able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn.

To be considered, you’ll need to:

  1. Submit your resume.
  2. Complete all pre‑screening questions in your application.
