Job purpose

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Accountable for continuous flow of electrical power to plant / Substations / buildings.
  • Ensure application of best work practices in execution of electrical maintenance jobs.
  • Responsible for electrical side of project implementation in Gas Network facilities.
  • Implements the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan within his section and execution along with  work backlogs
  • Prepares procurement plan for his section.
  • Responsible for issuing Work Permits on electrical side and implementing Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.
  • In emergency drills or emergency situations maintains close liaison with On-Scene Commander and Operation Coordinator, for ensuring quick restoration of power.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC) committee review meetings.
  • Ensure electrical equipment maintenance history & reports are updated in SAP (CMMS)
  • Implements the Corrective Maintenance (CM) plan within his section and execution along with work backlogs
  • Ensure to raise Z1 notification for CM activity in SAP
  • Identify the critical issues, repetitive failure of Electrical equipment, done and  the RCA Recommendations implemented for the area
  • Monitors staff attendance, attitude and implements discipline within the section.
  • Prepare annual leave plans
  • Full technical & manpower support during plants’ shutdown.
  • Determines long term Electrical maintenance policy and oversees detailed planning of maintenance activities and programs.
  • Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement and ensures availability.
  • Coordinates efforts within the Section to develop guidelines, specifications, best practices and procedures for maintenance
  • Maintains technical expertise in functional areas.
  • Carries out the technical evaluation of bids and generates the evaluation report.
  • Develops IDP of Omanis within the section, prepares training programs and monitors their implementation

Internal: Field Operators, Shift Team Leader, Panel Operators, Maintenance Coordinator, Process Trainer, Technical Services Department, Sr. / Engineer Operations.

External: Ministries, Civil Defense, ROP and Neighboring Companies

 

Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Electrical Engineering or similar

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required), Arabic - Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

 

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of maintenance processes for Gas Network operations

  • Knowledge of Electrical control loops.

  • Familiar with Systems, Applications and Products in data processing (SAP).

  • Expertise in High Tension voltage, Substation, Switch gear, MCC and Power network

  • Experience on pre-commissioning and commissioning of Power Sub Station

  • Good knowledge of modern maintenance technologies & maintenance Planning and execution of Electrical Equipment’s, Substation, EDGs, VFD Drives, Power electronics, 33KV OHL, UPS,

  • Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.

  • Good experience in handling Maintenance Contracts and shutdown related jobs.

  • Knowledge of:

    • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
    • Expertise in SAP- PM, CM&Z1
    • Process Equipment Life-Cycle Management
    • Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
  • Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports

  • Knowledgeable in HSE plans related to maintenance activities.

  • Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals
